Job Requirements of Tour Guide / Seal Tour:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- No prior knowledge is required, paid training is provided
- Ability to perform on-your-feet routine physical activity
- Must keep CPR and 1st Aid certificate current
- Ability to learn a scripted story and relay scripted story in an entertaining manner in the time allowed on a moving amphibious vehicle
- Ability to be heard in a clear, audible voice by an audience
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions
- Ability to work independently over long periods of time within the scope of established rules and regulations to satisfy the needs of our guests
- Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via the telephone while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow employees and the general public
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Must pass a CPR/ First Aid training course provided by employer
Successful candidate must pass a drug test and a background search

You've seen the big blue SEAL vehicles driving into the water and probably thought, ‘What a fun job that must be’. Well, you're absolutely right! The San Diego SEAL tours treat guests to a land and sea adventure, giving a unique live narrated view of San Diego.
We are now holding interviews for our PAID training program that will thoroughly prepare you to be a professional tour guide!
Our ideal Tour Guides have a passion for helping people and making their vacation experience a memorable one. A sincere love of history and the culture of our city is ideal.
The Tour Guides may be required to work in a non-air-conditioned vehicle, on busy public streets in a safe, competent manner while entertaining guests by narrating a scripted sightseeing tour.
Tour Guides narrate several tours during each shift.
