Commercial Fleet Manager

Historic Tours of America St. Augustine, FL (Onsite) Full-Time

Position Summary

The Fleet Manager performs routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional work in analyzing and administering various components of the Maintenance Department while keeping to the company’s mission. The Commercial Fleet Manager ensures that the image of our company is reflected in the appearance and condition of our equipment and facilities. This position is to maintain the company’s high safety standards and extend the assets’ life.

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply knowledge in multiple areas of vehicle repair including but not limited to the following systems: drive line, suspension systems, welding, body repair, cooling systems, transmissions, axles, rear end assemblies, brake systems and electrical systems.
  • Ability to drive in a safe, competent manner a vehicle that is 27 feet to 40 feet in length on company property, in confined areas, and on city and county roadways.
  • Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Shall be able to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow CASTmembers and the general public.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via the radio while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor.
  • Shall be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces and under a vehicle while lying on your back , lift, lower and carry items that typically weigh 25 – 50 pounds without assistance and 75 pounds with assistance, varying distances.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Management experience preferred
  • Current ASE or comparable certifications required: Medium/Heavy Auto Brakes and Preventative Maintenance Inspection.
  • Additional ASE Certifications and ASE Master Certifications preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
  • Must pass a DOT physical upon employment.
  • Must supply own hand tools and toolboxes. Tools must meet or exceed minimum tool list.

Successful candidate must pass a drug test and a background search
