Tavern Worker

Position Summary

The Tavern Worker ensures that guests at the Pirates Treasure Bar have an authentic experience providing prompt and friendly service serving a pirate's grog while telling pirate jokes, describing the pirate experience and answering questions about the pirate museum’s exhibits.

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate responsible alcohol service
  • Learn about the exhibits in the Pirates Museum to teach or interpret pirate history
  • Must be able to perform in a pirate character
  • Ability to work independently over long periods of time within the scope of established rules and regulations to satisfy the needs of our guests
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via the radio while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow CASTmembers and the general public
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Acting and/or improv training for guest interaction
  • Restaurant or bar background preferred
  • Valid Bar Card or equivalent
  • Valid Bar Smart certification
