Job Requirements of HR Manager - San Diego:
Essential Functions
- Coordinates communication of group insurance and other benefit programs to all employees and processes reports for changes or updates to employee files.
- Coordinate with the General Manager and the assigned Corporate HR Department when responding to sever employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
- Follow payroll processing procedures through Time and Attendance software. Enter other pay, manager department heads’ date entry of missed time punches, and email payroll files to the Corporate HR Department for processing.
- Conduct the ‘Onboarding’ process for all employees, including completing of all post-hire paperwork, verifying and reviewing I-9 forms and documents for accuracy and entering information in E-verify.
- Supervise assigned staff to achieve goals; plan and organize workloads/schedules to ensure the most effective use of the team. Participate in the interview, auditions, and hiring approval process. Train, counsel, motivate, communicate job expectations and evaluate staff.
- Ability to handle various HR matters including interviewing and onboarding, conflict resolution, management of leaves and accommodations, dissemination of benefits information, etc.
- Must be able to become proficient with several different on-line platforms.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years professional human resources experience with an emphasis on employee relations, recruiting and conflict resolution is required, specifically in CA
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and local employment law; specifically in California
- HR certification is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
- Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years.

The HR Manager handles human resources matters, providing guidance, training, assistance, and support to management, supervisors and employees. Daily job duties range from complex to routine. They often include employment interviews, new hire orientation and onboarding, preparing and processing personnel data and records, and overseeing the bi-weekly payroll. The HR Manager would also consult with managers and supervisors concerning individual employees or groups, identifying and resolving employee-related matters, and providing guidance on management issues. This position requires the ability to lead, motivate, manage others, and work as a team member within the management team.
