Job Summary

The Whaley House Museum Sales Representative is the face of Old Town Trolley Tours of San Diego, the Whaley House Museum, and Old Town San Diego to visitors worldwide. The Sales Representative is to sell our products with pride and communicate information accurately and with enthusiasm. You are to make sure the customer knows what they would miss by not taking our tours. The Whaley House Sales Representative should be knowledgeable on the museum's general history, its haunted folklore, and the surrounding Old Town area.

Job Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • No prior knowledge is required, paid training is provided
  • Accurately handle monies and receipts from sales, verify and balance cash drawer, secure and maintain ticket inventory and company assets
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions
  • Ability to work independently over long periods of time within the scope of established rules and regulations to satisfy the needs of our guests
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult people both in person and via the telephone while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow CASTmembers and the general public
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years, if required to drive while on duty
