Job Summary

This position receives merchandise from vendors and transfers supplies and merchandise to the Key West Stores using the inventory control software. This Distribution Center Manager must be computer proficient, a fast, accurate typist, and have a sharp eye for detail. This position requires the ability to lead, motivate, and manage others and promote a harmonious workplace.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the day-to-day operation including, but not limited to the receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods, and security and stock of the building.
  • Ensure the distribution department is working within the department’s procedures and policies.
  • Ensure accuracy when a shipment is received, compare the purchase order to the packing slip; edit the purchase order to match the packing slip
  • Research and resolve possible stock discrepancies and alert the Operations Manager of discrepancies or delays in the movement of merchandise.
  • Using the inventory system, create stock transfers based on replenishment reports and make corrections as need.
  • Organize and maintain records, databases, filing, and storage in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of records, databases, files, and other documents.
  • Ability to use a PC.
  • Must pass MVR

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to motive oneself and the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processors, spreadsheets, emails, office machines, managing files and records, etc.
  • Ability to hire, plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of assigned personnel
  • Ability to provide leadership, training, counsel, motivation, disciplining staff, process grievances and constructive performance reviews to staff
  • Excellent memory and organizational ability in order to set priorities, organize workloads, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn new duties, policies and procedures, and adjust to new situations encountered within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to clearly express thought to others and exchange information and to complete the required paperwork correctly.
