Job Requirements of Assistant Safety Officer - Key West:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current safety policies, regulations, and procedures. Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Report every accident/incident in accordance with company procedures. Report or review findings from safety inspections and evaluations and Accident investigations to Operations Manager, General Manager, and National Safety Director.
- First contact to initiate worker compensation claim, file claim with Risk Management and the insurance company, and hand claims over to local HR Manager for injury claim management.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and communicate effectively with diverse and sometimes irate individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL license with passenger endorsement.
- Must pass annual MVR checks as required by DOT.
- Participate and conduct employee safety training
- Shall be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Shall be able to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow employees, the general public, law enforcement and emergency personnel and to complete paperwork correctly.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time, climb stairs multiple times each day, lift 50 pounds to a height of 45 inches and carry it 10 yards and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Successful candidate must pass a drug test and a background search

Assistant Safety Officer - Key West
Job Summary
The Assistant Safety Officer performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, technical, and professional work assisting the Safety Officer administering our safety standards of Historic Tours of America’s Key West operations. This position should increase the Company’s safety awareness by ensuring that our Company’s high standards of safety are maintained through continuous staff training. It is your goal to maintain our corporation’s reputation as a safe company.
