Job Requirements of Assistant Operations Manager - Key West:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Assist the Operations Manager in managing and supervising the managers and employees in achieving goals; plan and organize workloads and staff assignments/schedules to ensure the most effective use of staff. Participate in the hiring approval process. Train, counsel, motivate, communicate job expectations, and evaluate staff.
- Maintain a safe work environment by working with your local Safety Officer, Operations Manager, General Manager, Fleet Manager, Corporate Risk Management team, and Safety Department to ensure compliance with DOT, SHA, ADA, and federal, state, and locale regulations.
- Manage the daily tour operation’s logistical aspects, including participating in “Manager on Duty” functions and opening procedures, ensuring everything is ready for that day, conducting a morning briefing, distributing cash banks, creating schedules, managing the loop and charters, and dispatching the tour loop efficiently and effectively.
- When necessary, drive in a safer, competent manner a non-airconditioned Conch Train or a Key West Trolley on busy public streets to move from one point to another while entertaining guests by narrating a scripted sightseeing tour when needed.
- Participating in the closing cash-out recap process as the closing manager as assigned. Report all discrepancies to the Operations Manager and General Manager
Qualifications
- Related college degree preferred.
- Prior management experience required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- TWIC Pass, Federal background check, and Key West Port Pass are required.
Must pass pre-employment drug tests and complete a pre-employment background check

Assistant Operations Manager - Key West
Position Purpose
The Assistant Operations Manager assists with managing the logistical aspects of the daily tour operation for the Conch Tour Train (CTT), Old Town Trolley (OTT), and Ghost and Gravestones (G&G) while adhering to the Company‘s mission to be The Nation’s Storyteller. This position requires a good sense of safety, the responsibility to lead and manage others, and the ability to motivate staff and promote a harmonious workplace.
