The Key West Cooking School

Position Summary

Kitchen Manager is responsible for the overall operations for the back of house and kitchen area of the cooking school. In addition, kitchen managers ensure that KWCS culinary standards are upheld: the food looks good and is cooked properly, the proportions are correct, and it is cooked and served quickly. Also, the Kitchen Manager supports the cafe’s senior leadership in upholding all brand standards and core values while meeting or exceeding KWCS business objectives.

Job Requirements:

Essential Requirements

  • Effectively control costs of food and related purchases in alignment with budgeted expectations.
  • Support the team in a consistent execution of all systems and processes to consistently deliver all products and services to company standards.
  • Develop kitchen team in all aspects of kitchen execution form 100% recipe adherence to banquet service
  • Responsible for weekly orders, daily production, cleaning schedules, execution and overall organization in the entire kitchen and back of the house.
  • Ability to reach, bend, squat, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry, push as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Ability to lift, lower and carry supplies, tubs, and cases that typically weigh up to 50 lbs. varying distances.

Other Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record for past three years.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry inclusive of restaurant culinary operations
  • Possess all local food management and safety certifications.
